What is the PSAT/NMSQT?

The PSAT/NMSQT is a great way to preview and practice for the SAT, which is a college admissions test.  The PSAT tests the same skills and knowledge as the SAT.  The PSAT/NMSQT will test your skills and knowledge in the following areas: Reading, Writing and Language, and Math.

Why should I take the PSAT/NMSQT?

  • The new redesigned PSAT/NMSQT is aligned with the new redesigned SAT.
  • When you get your test results, connect with your College Board and Khan Academy accounts to get free personalized SAT study recommendations.
  • Your scores will be submitted in competition for the following national scholarships (as applicable):

NMSC—National Merit Scholarship Program and National Achievement Scholarship Program

NSSFNS—National Scholarship Service offers free advisory and referral service for African Americans

National Hispanic Recognition Program provides information to colleges on academically talented Hispanic students

Telluride Association offers scholarships to highly gifted juniors for summer seminars in the humanities and social sciences.
